I use these with a Smart Pet Love Snuggle Puppy to help keep my little 17-years-old dachshund's bed warm on cool-to-mildly-cold nights. It doesn't get too cold here most of the time, so the larger size warmer that came with his Snuggle Puppy is probably more warmer than we will need most nights, but these little warmers seem just right to pre-warm his little bed, and keep a warm spot he can snuggle with or move away from under his blanket(s). He has been sleeping better, and longer, since we started doing this. I think he really loves to come back to a warm spot when we have to go outside in the middle of the night or early in the morning, which he often does, due to his medical treatments.I have found that they work best for our purpose if I tuck one into a short, thin sock, roll that up tight, tuck that into another short, thin sock, roll that up tight, and then put the little bundle into the special pocket in the Snuggle Puppy. This slows the reaction that creates the heat a little bit, so that it lasts longer, and is a little cooler than when I just put the warmer in the Snuggle Puppy. I set it up and put the snuggle puppy in his bed about 1/2 before his bedtime, and when he gets there, there is a warm spot for him when I move the Puppy to the side of the bed. Like I said before, it doesn't get very cold here most of the time, and he is just a little dog, indoors, in a bed with a blanket underneath, a blanket bundled around the edge, and one or two light blankets on top, so what we are shooting for is just a little bit of gentle heat radiating from his Snuggle Puppy. He is a very mature boy, and does not chew on his Snuggle Puppy. Some of our other, younger, and more robust dogs have discovered his snuggle secret, and they are a little jealous.These are also great to help keep my hands warm on the dogwalk, and to warm up hands and feet after the dogwalk.

We had our wedding on New Years Day.. it was an outdoors ceremony.. we live in southern California so it was mostly 65-70 degrees but I was afraid our guests might get cold. We had about 200 guests and I really appreciate the price because we were able to afford it. We had a large number of family members who were elderly and wanted them to be comfortable. I ordered these 3 days before the wedding in case it got cold. It arrived the day after I ordered it and our guests LOVED them! It got to about 50-55 degrees so all of our guests appreciated the hand warmers for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Someone gave me the suggestion of having our bridesmaids put the warmer under their dresses to keep the core warm but we didn't need to.. but I thought it was a great idea. Our guests said it stayed warm even after they got home.. so it was at least 8 hours.

They're a great comfort item for those chilly nights. And at times, these hand warmers feel like an essential factor for good sleep out in the wilderness. My family and I are avid backpackers and campers. We're always looking for simple and lightweight ways to add enjoyment to our trips. These definitely fit the bill. They weigh in at 1.6oz per pair in the original packaging. They keep their warmth for 10 hours or longer. They're just fun to use. We throw them in our pockets or put them where we feel cold spots during the night. My dog loves them too! I put them in his pack when he goes to sleep. He gets cold very easily, and I've been afraid for his health at times, that is, until I started using these hand warmers. Just remember to pack them out with your trash if you're in the back country. :)

I have tried some off brands but always come back to Hot Hands, they are more dependable to heat up and stay warm longer

I bought these to take to the Music City Bowl (GO VANDY!). The game was out side (11am) and had snow flurries. I opened 6 packs (12 palm sized warmers) and shook them around in the air (air activated - right) and my wife and I put 2 in our back pant pockets, 2 in our front pant pockets and 2 in out jacket hand pockets about 45 minutes before game time. At first (within 10-15 minutes) I thought they were not going to work but they then started to warm up. They eventually did (20 minutes) and my wife and I very cozy throughout the entire game. (if you take them out of your pocket and try to hold hem in the cold air they are not as effective as leaving them in your pocket and putting your hands in your pocket) After the game they were still all extremely warm and we gave them some tailgaters that were going to be outside celebrating for a while.I have used them on some 20 degree mornings at the local dog park and I open them 20 minutes before I thought I would need them - they worked great. When I came home wiht my dog they were still going strong. I placed a few under her mat and she happily laid on her now heated mat for hours.
